Young Kawasaki rider Meghan Rutledge is a gutsy and determined MX racer who has won a load of National and State Titles.....and she's not even 16 yet. We catch up with Meg to see what makes her tick and what her plans are for this year. Watch for this talented young racer making headlines in years to come!
Below is some information about Meghan.
Meg, how long have you been riding dirt bikes for and why did you start?
I started racing when I was 4, so nearly 12 years. My whole family was involved in the sport at the time as both my older sisters raced.
Did being the only female competitor phase you?
No, as a lot of my racing is against boys. They treat me like one of them and it brings out my competitive streak.
Some people must say you’re nuts for doing what you do. What do you say to them?
This is not a split second decision, it's a life style choice. It is what I train and live for.

What are your goals for the future?
My goals for 2011 are :
- Senior Female NSW State Champion
- Top 10 under 19s NSW State Title
- Top 5 C grade opens NSW State Title
- Female Senior Australian Champion
- Qualify for Super X finals under 19's
My long term goals are to race overseas and to be the Female World Champion.
